The Pioneer Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Independence 76ers  at 3:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Pioneer will be strutting in after a  win while Independence will be coming in after a  loss.
Pioneer saw some tournament action  on Monday. They put the hurt on Gunderson with a sharp  13-1 victory.
 Gina Scripoch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Furthermore,  she didn't allow a single  earned run, the first time  she has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Cara Goodrich was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Olivia Krump, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-1.
 Pioneer was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .600. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in March of 2024.
 Independence kicked off their season on the road  on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost  17-0 to Piedmont Hills. Sadly, the  defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.
 Pioneer's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
