There's no place like home for the Atlantic City Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-39 win over Ocean City on Thursday. That looming 56-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Atlantic City yet this season.
Atlantic City found their leader in underclassman Taison Parker, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker has scored all season. Julia Marigliano was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Despite the loss, Ocean City still got an impressive performance from McKenna Chisholm, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 24 rebounds. Chisholm continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Adamson, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Ocean City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Atlantic City's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Ocean City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic City will square off against Wildwood Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Wildwood Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Atlantic City in New Jersey (Wildwood Catholic is ranked 20th, while Atlantic City is ranked 217th). As for Ocean City, they will head out on the road to square off against Absegami at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
