The South Point Pointers will head out on the road to challenge the Chesapeake Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. South Point is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

South Point made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dawson-Bryant, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pointers fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Pointers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chesapeake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against South Gallia on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-11 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Felicity Bellomy was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Zoe Jones was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

South Point's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Chesapeake, their win bumped their record up to 7-17.

Chesapeake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Point hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. It's a different story for Chesapeake, though, as they've only averaged .216. Will they be able to contain South Point's hitters?

Everything went South Point's way against Chesapeake in their previous meeting back in April, as South Point made off with a 17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pointers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
