The field is set for The Throne, a high school basketball tournament scheduled for March 27-30 at the American Dream shopping mall in East Rutherford, N.J. All games will stream live on NBA TV.
Five of the eight teams are ranked in this week's MaxPreps Top 25, including No. 6
Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), No. 8
Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.), No. 10
Morris Catholic (Denville, N.J.), No. 11
Hebron Christian (Dacula, Ga.) and No. 22
DeSoto (Texas).
In addition to the six ranked teams,
Ridgeline (Millville, Utah) and
McDonogh (Owings Mills, Md.) are in the field along with a representative from the NY CHSAA/NY PSAL.
Gold Level Sports & Entertainment and the National Basketball
Players Association are continuing their partnership to bring The Throne
back for its second consecutive season next month.
The four-day, single-elimination tournament aims to bring a national title event to the high school level.
Some
schools are participating in the event as club teams. Although they are
playing with club team monikers, the participants are all students at
the same high school.
