Curtis McElhaney posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Columbus is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 12-14 otherwise.

Coming up, McElhaney and Columbus will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sumter County at 5:30 p.m. The last time McElhaney duked it out with the Panthers (back in March), the Blue Devils came out on top by a score of 17-0.
