The Oak Hill Raiders will head out to take on the Maranacook Black Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Hill is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Oak Hill came up short against Monmouth Academy on Wednesday, falling 14-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered against the Mustangs since April 30, 2022.
Logan Langlois made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Maranacook ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Spruce Mountain 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Bears have posted since May 29, 2024.
Austin Tibbetts tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on River Fallos, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Maranacook's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Alex Spaulding was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Maranacook hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spruce Mountain struck out seven times.
Oak Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Maranacook, their record is now 4-5.
Oak Hill took their win against Maranacook when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
