The Sandusky Blue Streaks had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 76-63 victory over Elyria on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jason Henlon was on fire: he scored 29 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Aaron, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Elyria still got an impressive performance from Jayden Crutcher, who scored 27 points along with 6 rebounds. Taylor Blanton was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 7 rebounds.
Sandusky's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Elyria, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandusky will take on Mansfield Senior at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Elyria, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bay at 7:00 p.m.
