Basketball Recap: Creede Skates Past Lake City with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Creede). They breezed by Lake City to the tune of 48-21 on Saturday. The Miners pushed the score to 44-11 by the end of the third, a deficit Lake City cut but never quite recovered from.

Creede's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jasmin Laing, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten boards, and nine steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Laing has scored at least a third of Creede's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Edmonds, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Creede and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Creede will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sargent at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Creede has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lake City, they will venture away from home to face off against Moffat at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake City will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
