The Wayne Blue Devils had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against Guardian Angels Central Catholic by a score of 55-43. That's another feather in the cap for Wayne, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drue Davis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Davis scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Backer, who scored 13 points.
Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Wayne will head out on the road to face off against West Point-Beemer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Guardian Angels Central Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Aquinas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
