Lincoln Southwest is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Lincoln East. Lincoln Southwest blew past Lincoln East 57-22.
Lincoln Southwest found their leader in sophomore Kaytee Irons-Buettner, who went 8 for 15 en route to 16 points plus two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Weigel, who posted nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Elkhorn South unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The match between them and Kearney didn't end well, with Elkhorn South falling 66-49. The Storm were down 51-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
