The Wayne Academy Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 65-26 loss at the hands of Lamar. Wayne Academy has not had much luck with Lamar recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading Lamar to victory were Blake Hart and Aryah Grace. Hart scored 24 points along with six assists and five steals, while Grace dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Grace has scored at least 25% of Lamar's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Dudley Reed, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Wayne Academy bumped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Lamar, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Wayne Academy will head out on the road to face off against Simpson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lamar, they will be playing at home against Leake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Leake Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
