Softball Recap: Green Ridge Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

Green Ridge hadn't done well against Lincoln recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Cardinals 16-10. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Green Ridge let Kayden Box and Kali Young run wild. Box went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Young went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Young a new career-high. Abby Warner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Green Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Green Ridge's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Lincoln, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 22-6.

As of now, neither Green Ridge nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
