Make it six blowout wins for the Philip Scotties this season. Everything went their way against Lead-Deadwood on Thursday as Philip made off with a 57-32 win. The win was just what Philip needed coming off of a 57-29 defeat in their prior match.
Josie Jones was her usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Mattisen Reckling was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Philip has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Lead-Deadwood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Philip's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Titans at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Leola/Frederick is ranked 89th, while the Scotties are ranked 85th). As for Lead-Deadwood, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. Red Cloud will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
