Calhoun extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Trace Hawkins. The Yellow Jackets came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 77-76 W against the Cartersville Hurricanes with plenty of help from Hawkins, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 28 points. His big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Parks Layson was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times he's played.

Calhoun's record is now 5-1. As for Cartersville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-50 win against Sonoraville on the 29th. As for Cartersville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-41 victory against Adairsville on the 29th.
