The Yavneh Academy Bulldogs will face off against the Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Yavneh Academy comes in on three and Chisholm Trail Academy on six.
Yavneh Academy can't be too worried about heading out to take on Chisholm Trail Academy: they just beat Lakehill Prep at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Yavneh Academy secured a 46-41 W over Lakehill Prep on Tuesday.
Among those leading the charge was Brendy Eber, who posted nine points and three steals. Darren Sacher was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Chisholm Trail Academy on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Burton Adventist Academy out of the water with a 79-36 final score. The Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.
Chisholm Trail Academy found their leader in sophomore Max Castro, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 28 points and eight steals. The match was Castro's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jadon Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Chisholm Trail Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Yavneh Academy pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Chisholm Trail Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Yavneh Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Chisholm Trail Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Yavneh Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Chisholm Trail Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 71-62. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Chisholm Trail Academy's Tony Planells, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for Yavneh Academy to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
