The Ralston Rams's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Ralston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Last Friday, Ralston came up short against Beatrice and fell 50-37.
Despite their loss, Ralston saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hunter Eckley, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Winner Mutoke, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Ashland-Greenwood faced Elkhorn in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ashland-Greenwood received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 59-45 to Elkhorn. It was the first time this season that Ashland-Greenwood let down their fans at home.
Ralston's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their defeat ended a 19-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.
Ralston was taken down by Ashland-Greenwood 76-30 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ralston was down 49-21.
