Baseball Recap: Adam Taake and Caden Crain Secure Win for Century

Century won the last time they faced Shawnee and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Centurions never let the Redskins get on the board and left with a 14-0 win.

Caden Crain and Adam Taake made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Crain pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Taake pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Crain scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Taake scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Taake a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Wright, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Plott, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Century was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawnee only posted a batting average of .000.

Century's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Shawnee, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Century will challenge Anna-Jonesboro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawnee, they will face off against Agape Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
