The Ursuline Fighting Irish will head out on the road to face off against the Harding Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Canfield scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Ursuline still came out on top. Ursuline walked away with a 70-60 win over Canfield. The win was just business as usual for Ursuline, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Ursuline got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Payne out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Bell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Harding beat Canton Central Catholic 58-45 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Harding.
Ursuline's victory bumped their season record to 3-0 while Canfield's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Ursuline against Harding when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 69-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ursuline since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
