The Lone Jack Mules waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 59-47 win over Santa Fe. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lone Jack also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Lone Jack's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrett Mantzey led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Rogers, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Lone Jack's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Santa Fe, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lone Jack and the Whirlwinds will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Santa Fe, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crest Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Chiefs in Missouri (the Cougars are ranked 117th, while the Chiefs are ranked 535th).
