The Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Heartland Christian Saints at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Crosspointe Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
Crosspointe Christian Academy put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They breezed by Legacy Christian at home to the tune of 76-33. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-15.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crosspointe Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neby Yewubneh, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Yewubneh has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Quinton Ford, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Heartland Christian came up short against Calvary Christian on Saturday and fell 54-42.
Despite the loss, Heartland Christian got a solid performance out of Landon Clemens, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clemens has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Clemens, who scored eight points.
Crosspointe Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Heartland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Crosspointe Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Heartland Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
