COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
Pine Creek (Colorado Springs, Colo.) snapped the five-game winning streak of Montrose (Colo.), with a 48-14 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Lavanson Coffey touchdown run in the first quarter, the Eagles led 20-7 at the half.
Pine Creek expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. PC scored three times in the third, including once on a
Scotty Savage touchdown run.
With the win the Colorado Springs school extended its winning streak to 11 games. Pine Creek defeated Monarch 21-7 last week.
The Eagles had given up an average of 13.2 points prior to the contest. Montrose's 14 points were well below their season average of 34.9 per game.
The loss comes after Montrose defeated Pueblo South 39-38 last week.
