Basketball Recap: Northwestern Sets Scoring Season-High Against Frankfort

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwestern). They blew past the Frankfort Hot Dogs 72-48 on Saturday. The Tigers pushed the score to 64-38 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hot Dogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Frankfort's loss came despite strong showings from Charlie Beardsley and Lucas Waggoner. Beardsley went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds, while Waggoner posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Waggoner a new career-high. Jack Michael was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Northwestern now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Frankfort, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Northwestern and Manchester will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Frankfort will take on Twin Lakes in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Frankfort has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
