Fishers and Lawrence North are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Fishers Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Lawrence North Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Fishers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They strolled past Avon with points to spare, taking the game 66-50. Given Fishers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Avon is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fishers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nevaeh Dickman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Dickman has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Talia Harris, who scored 20 points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, Lawrence North was able to grind out a solid victory over Ben Davis on Saturday, taking the game 63-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lawrence North.
Fishers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Lawrence North, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.
Fishers was able to grind out a solid win over Lawrence North when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 63-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fishers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
