The Unalaska Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a tough 54-28 defeat at the hands of Hooper Bay. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Unalaska of the 65-33 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last Thursday.
Hooper Bay's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Susie Long, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Long scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ariana Tall-Lake, who scored 14 points.
Unalaska's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hooper Bay, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Unalaska does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hooper Bay will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Unalakleet at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th.
