The Encampment Tigers entered their tilt with the North Park Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Encampment walked away with a 51-39 victory over North Park on Tuesday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Encampment has scored all season.
North Park's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Cornelison, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for Cornelison. Gavin Pittington was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
North Park struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Encampment's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for North Park, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encampment will take on Southeast at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday. North Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face Weldon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th. Weldon Valley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
