The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pequannock, who took down 277th ranked Boonton, 21-7.
Mountain Lakes extended the longest winning streak in Northwest Jersey - Independence this week by beating North Warren Regional, 34-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
The Patriots' dynamic duo of David Wilbur and Jon Davalos proved tough for Mountain Lakes to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wilbur threw for 70 yards and Davalos had 32 yards receiving. Brian Turner helped North Warren Regional's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Johann Lara was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 163 yards as Hopatcong fell to Darrell Fusco's team. Teammate Wyatt Gehring added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.
Butler's Chris Heredia and Kirc Bargamento have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Heredia has thrown for 1403 yards this season, while Bargamento, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 23 catches for 345 yards. Isaac Spann from the Bombers leads the league in rushing with 552 yards.
The top two teams in Northwest Jersey - Independence will face off this week when first place Mountain Lakes takes on second place Butler. The Lakers topped the Patriots last week, while the Bulldogs defeated Morris Catholic.

Mountain Lakes moved up to 82 from 131 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lakers were able to make the jump by beating North Warren Regional 34-13.
