Baraga is 0-10 against Dollar Bay since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Baraga Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Dollar Bay Bays at 7:15 p.m. Baraga will be strutting in after a win while Dollar Bay will be coming in after a loss.
Baraga had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Chassell by a score of 51-43 on Monday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Baraga has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Dollar Bay came up short against Calumet on Monday and fell 59-48. While losing is never fun, Dollar Bay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Calumet is ranked 182nd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Liam Tourtillott, who scored 18 points along with four steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Will Beaudoin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Baraga's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Dollar Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Baraga came up short against Dollar Bay in their previous meeting back in February, falling 48-38. Thankfully for Baraga, Chase Benson (who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
