Edgewood is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Cascade is on a 14-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will host the Cadets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Edgewood beats Cascade with eight runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand South Putnam an 8-0 shutout on Wednesday.

ALLY BLAND made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, MADI BLAND was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was ADDISON YEARBY, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Edgewood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cascade). They put the hurt on Franklin Community with a sharp 18-6 victory on Saturday.
Grace Parks spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Cascade got a massive performance out of Macey Pugh, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Pugh has posted over her last ten matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Padgett, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Edgewood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Cascade struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edgewood came up short against Cascade in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 3-0. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
