The Lakota Raiders came tearing into Thursday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 41-36 win over Danbury. 41 seems to be a good number for Lakota as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Danbury's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maci Brown, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Brown has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Kelly Uhinck was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lakota pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Danbury, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-2.
Lakota will take on Gibsonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibsonburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakota in Ohio (Gibsonburg is ranked 109th, while Lakota is ranked 226th). As for Danbury, they will head out on the road to face off against New Riegel at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
