Brunswick and Bradwell Institute are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Brunswick Pirates will square off against the Bradwell Institute Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brunswick is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Statesboro: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Brunswick blew Statesboro out of the water with a 60-33 final score. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.

Martin Davis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up nine points and seven steals. Davis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrice Mungin, who posted 12 points.
Brunswick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 26 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Bradwell Institute had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.9 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-38 victory over the Blue Devils. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brunswick better keep an eye on Parris Parham. She was instrumental in Bradwell Institute's win, scoring 17 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Ja?Nya Bush, who put up nine points in addition to five assists and three steals.
Brunswick has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.4 points. As for Bradwell Institute, their win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Brunswick and Bradwell Institute are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Brunswick hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.3 points per game. However, it's not like Bradwell Institute struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Brunswick lost to Bradwell Institute on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Brunswick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
