Baseball Recap: Triton Has No Trouble Against Westover

Triton got themselves on the board against Westover on Friday, but Westover never followed suit. They blew past the Wolverines 13-0. Considering the Hawks have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on William Meredith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Triton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

The win made it two in a row for Triton and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Westover, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Triton will head out to take on Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Pine Forest has averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Westover, they will welcome Overhills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Overhills will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Westover surely won't give up without a fight.
