They were just one part of a punishing run game: Slocomb was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Montgomery Academy hadn't beaten Trinity Presbyterian on the road since September 28, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Wildcats 38-12. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Montgomery Academy found their leader in sophomore Reid McBride, who threw for 259 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 70 yards on only seven carries. Those five passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for McBride. Montgomery Academy's leading receiver Jarrett Friendly was McBride's top target yet again, picking up 110 receiving yards and one score.
Montgomery Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Leading the way was Friendly and his one interception. Braden Gordon was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Slocomb has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Montgomery Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 160.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Slocomb was dealt a bruising 50-12 defeat at the hands of Montgomery Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McBride, who threw for 229 yards and three TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes.
