The St. Joseph Knights are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds. St. Joseph blew past Bettye Davis East Anchorage, posting a 74-47 victory on the road. St. Joseph has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Tounde Yessoufou was his usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Yessoufou is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Julius Price, who scored 18 points along with six assists.
The win (which was St. Joseph's sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.2 points per game. As for Bettye Davis East Anchorage, their loss dropped their record down to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will take on Arroyo Grande at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
