The Gaither Cowboys entered their tilt with the Middleton Tigers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Gaither came out on top against Middleton by a score of 55-47 on Friday. Given Gaither's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Middleton is ranked 681st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gaither to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayce Humphries, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Rico Kindred, who scored 11 points.
Gaither has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Middleton, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Gaither will be playing at home against Riverview at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverview is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Middleton, they will take on East Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
