The Broomfield Eagles were the 45-20 winner over the Poudre Impalas when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Broomfield was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 36-35 to Poudre. Broomfield found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 15 to 7 on offense.
Broomfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sydney Deem, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals. Deem is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Jones, who scored seven points.
Poudre was led to victory by Kavi Voglund and Maggie Foster. Voglund scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while Foster dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Voglund has scored at least a third of Poudre's points.
Broomfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season. As for Poudre, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broomfield will challenge Legacy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to challenge Erie at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
