Basketball Recap: Mylie Sipe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lewis Cass over Oak Hill

Lewis Cass was the 41-30 winner over Oak Hill when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lewis Cass Kings fell just short of the Oak Hill Golden Eagles by a score of 40-38 on Tuesday. The Kings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Kings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mylie Sipe, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Aftin Griffin was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Oak Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brianna Dailey out in front who put up nine points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Cates, who had five points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Lewis Cass' defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Oak Hill, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Lewis Cass wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 41-29 loss against Northfield on the 9th. As for Oak Hill, they will face off against Blackford at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
