The Edison Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 64-49 fall against Gibsonburg. Edison found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up ten fewer assists than your opponent.
When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kayden Bourget. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with three steals. Bourget continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Whiley, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Gibsonburg can attribute much of their success to Sam Mcewan, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcewan has scored all season. Zach Mcgough was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Edison's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-11. As for Gibsonburg, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will take on Vermilion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vermilion is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Gibsonburg, they will be playing at home against Lakota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakota is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
