After flying high against Fieldcrest on Thursday, Eureka came back down to earth. The Hornets fell just short of the Farmington Farmers by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Eureka's loss dropped their record down to 26-3. As for Farmington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka will head out to face off against Morton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Farmington, they will venture away from home to take on Bushnell-Prairie City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Farmers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a 28-game losing streak.
