Baseball Recap: Camden County Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Camden County lost to Lawrence Academy back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Bruins never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Bruins have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cole Roberts was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Roberts was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Collins, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Davenport, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Camden County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Camden County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Lawrence Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.

Camden County has already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Northeastern on the 4th. As for Lawrence Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-0 win against Albemarle School on the 3rd.
