After three games on the road, Patriot Prep Academy is heading back home. They will take on the KIPP Columbus Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Patriot Prep Academy is ranked 479th, while KIPP Columbus is ranked 485th).
Last Saturday, Patriot Prep Academy lost to Horizon Science Academy on the road by a decisive 62-43 margin.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dominic Sammons, who scored seven points along with seven steals and six rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Cameron Thomas was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, Patriot Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, KIPP Columbus beat Northside Christian 50-46 on Saturday.
Patriot Prep Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for KIPP Columbus, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Patriot Prep Academy couldn't quite finish off KIPP Columbus in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 62-60. Can Patriot Prep Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
