The Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats will face off against the Mobile Christian Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity Presbyterian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hurricanes 35-0 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Trinity Presbyterian who now have four in a row.
It was another big night for Ross Sanders, who rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Sanders hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Mcclinton, who threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Meanwhile, Mobile Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Houston Academy 35-10. Mobile Christian's win was all the more impressive since Houston Academy was averaging only 14.67 points allowed on the season.
Mobile Christian found their leader in underclassman PJ Brown, who rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.
Their wins bumped Trinity Presbyterian to 11-1 and Flomaton to 7-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Trinity Presbyterian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mobile Christian struggles in that department as they've been even better at 242.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Trinity Presbyterian lost to Mobile Christian on the road by a decisive 27-13 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Trinity Presbyterian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
