The Mohave Thunderbirds made easy work of the Glendale Cardinals on Monday and carried off a 13-2 win. Considering the Thunderbirds have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Rilynn Bragg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Gabby Fernandez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Jahnezz Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Mohave kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Mohave's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Glendale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Coming up, Mohave will take on Prescott at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Glendale, they will challenge Copper Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
