The Suffield Academy Tigers took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 51-43 win over Greens Farms Academy. This was payback for Suffield Academy, who suffered a 56-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Greens Farms Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was London Powell, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryley Tate-Padian, who scored 11 points.
Suffield Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Greens Farms Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Suffield Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holy Child at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Greens Farms Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Greenwich Country Day at 5:15 p.m.
