Kossuth is 8-2 against Booneville since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Aggies will face off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Kossuth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Kossuth is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Germantown just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 5-4.
Landon Huddleston was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Ayden Wilbanks and Ethan Killough stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilbanks went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Killough went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Booneville came up short against Ripley on Friday, falling 14-2. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Maddox Burns was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Knox Houston made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Bennett Geno was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Kossuth's record now sits at 9-3. As for Booneville, their record is now 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kossuth has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Booneville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Kossuth was able to grind out a solid win over Booneville in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, winning 14-10. Will the Aggies repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
