Frontier Regional hasn't had much luck against Greenfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Green Wave at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
If Frontier Regional beats Greenfield with 12 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Red Hawks beat Taconic on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-5. The win was familiar territory for the Red Hawks, who have now won five matches in a row.

04/11/25 vs Mount Greylock Regional | 7 |

04/01/25 vs Mohawk Trail Regional | 10 |
03/28/25 @ Hampshire Regional | 5 |
Raine Wonsey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Skyler Steele, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ashley Taylor also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Steele wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Frontier Regional lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taconic didn't launched any home runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Greenfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Wahconah Regional 13-1 on Tuesday. The game marked the Green Wave's most dominant victory of the season so far.
MacKenzie Paulin was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Paulin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Greenfield got a massive performance out of Olivia Lemay, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Gloria McDonald was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles.
Frontier Regional pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Greenfield, their record is now 4-2.
Greenfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Frontier Regional has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. It's a different story for Greenfield, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Frontier Regional's hitters?
Frontier Regional couldn't quite get it done against Greenfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Red Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
