The Manitou Springs Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Florence at home to the tune of 58-27. The win made it back-to-back wins for Manitou Springs.
Manitou Springs was led to victory by McKesson Rhodes and Brooklynn Sheffield. Rhodes scored 16 points along with three steals, while Sheffield scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rhodes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tori Greene, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Florence lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordyn Adamson. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Florence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manitou Springs only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Manitou Springs' win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Florence, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manitou Springs will face off against the Thunder at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Lamar's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Mustangs have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Florence, they will face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
