The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Hurricane by a score of 55-52. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crimson Cliffs in their matchups with Hurricane: they've now lost four in a row.
Crimson Cliffs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alyssa Whittaker, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Summer Adams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hurricane to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abbigail Stout, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Addison Crandall, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Crimson Cliffs has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Hurricane, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Crimson Cliffs will head out on the road to square off against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pine View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. As for Hurricane, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. Snow Canyon is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
