The Lebanon Yellowjackets and the Mountain Grove Panthers will round out the year against one another at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lebanon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Buffalo 67-35 at home. Given Lebanon's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Buffalo is ranked 429th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lebanon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Carr, who scored 18 points. The game was Carr's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kory Hough was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Eldon scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Mountain Grove still came out on top. Mountain Grove narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Eldon 68-66. The victory was familiar territory for Mountain Grove who now have three in a row.
Lebanon's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Mountain Grove, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
