The Pickerington North Panthers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pickerington Central Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Pickerington North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Last Friday, Pickerington North ended up a good deal behind New Albany and lost 56-41. While losing is never fun, Pickerington North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while New Albany is ranked 19th).
Pickerington North's defeat came about despite a quality game from Arness Lawson, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Lawson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Vital, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pickerington Central entered their tilt with Lancaster with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Pickerington Central put the hurt on Lancaster with a sharp 72-48 win on Friday.
Pickerington North's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Pickerington Central, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 12-7.
Pickerington North couldn't quite finish off Pickerington Central when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 57-54. Can Pickerington North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
