The Alak Huskies had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Kali 55-19 on the road. With Alak ahead 27-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Alak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paul Okpeaha, who scored 22 points. Josiah Henry was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Alak's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Kali, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Nunamiut the next time they take the court. Kali will head out to face Nunamiut at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while Alak will head out to face them at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
